I want to take the best portrait you have ever seen of yourself.  This has always been my aim, whether it is’ for business or personal use.

I run into people years after I have photographed them and their families, and they always say. “…we love the photos you did for us…from all the pictures we have; – yours are the best!” I love what I do, and the ‘proof is in the pudding!’

So often, people worry about their business profile photo, because they want to remain business-like, whilst still being approachable and ‘human’. They want to show a bit of personality without being over familiar.  A personal branding or “headshot” session is about getting the most natural, relaxed and authentic you to shine through;

To engage with the viewer, and make them want to contact you and more importantly, to do business with you. I can do this for you!

I can promise a fun, relaxed session, that includes wardrobe changing, some location changes, plenty tea , and often, home made cake! – I really love to bake!

Please phone for a no-obligation chat about your ideas and requirements.

Your session fee (£75) includes the sitting, a private online viewing gallery and (one) fully edited and airbrushed (if necessary) colour and black and white versions of your choice of photos. I am also happy to resize the photos for use in social media. Additional images are also available at £15 each.

I am extending a very special complimentary family portrait session to all Gedling Business Partners who book a business headshot session. In addition to this, please take advantage of a 10% discount off all standard subsequent photo orders.

May 2017- Member of the Month- Jackie Wilson – Kidsskills4life

My Mission  –My mission is to change the face of mental health in schools, to work towards getting emotional intelligence into the curriculum, because it is a crucial subject that needs to be taught to enable children to have the knowledge of how to create greater emotional health and well-being.  This naturally leads to more success in life, in academic achievement, in relationships and with themselves.

About Me – I am married and a mum to 3 amazing children – Chloe 8, Adam 18 & Katie 20.  Both my own children and all the children I have had the pleasure to teach over the years have been my teachers and inspiration! I am a Parent Governor at an infant school in Arnold, and I have recently been asked to be Patron of the Shaw Mind Foundation.

My JourneyAs a teenager my mental health was poor, my self esteem & confidence was very low and I struggled through my teen years and as a young adult dealing with my emotions.    I traumatically lost my uncle when I was 10 yrs old and my grief was suppressed, at home I was often angry, at school I was withdrawn and very shy.  Over time this led to depression which carried on into adulthood undiscovered until I was in my 30s.  However, through attending yoga classes, I began my journey to becoming self aware and understanding myself at a deeper level. Through my love of yoga, I decided to train as a children’s yoga teacher.  I also trained in basic counselling skills, and took part in a deeply life transformational self development programme where I gained deeper realizations about myself and I began to take responsibility of my emotions and I feel so blessed to have transformed my life into a very positive, happy one!

Kidsskills4life–  came to life 5 years ago, as a mission to provide young people with an education in emotional intelligence, during which time I have been lucky enough to collaborate and train with some inspiring people, experts in their field to help create programmes using Emotional Intelligence, Mindfulness, Positive Psychology, Whole Brain Integration, NLP & Yoga Techniques. I ran programmes for children within Nottingham schools.

Empower EducationOver the last two years, there were various conclusions that not only was it that the children needed the training, teens, young adults, teachers, and parents needed it also.  Then it was realised that the scope of the business had to be increased to cover the observed fuller need/requirements. The evolution to change the name to Empower Education came about to support this need.  I now offer programmes/workshops in schools and also in the community.

Web-Being Hub for Families & SchoolsA new venture I have recently launched is the Well-Being Hub for Families & Schools, a hub of independent specialists supporting the emotional and physical well-being of children, teens, parents & teachers.  We offer 1-1 sessions, workshops, talks, group sessions for families, schools and organisations and I am currently looking into creating this as a charity that can take referrals from organisations and provide a wider service than that currently available within the NHS.

I have always enjoyed cooking and seeing the joy on my family’s face after a good meal they really liked. Realizing that it gave me a lot of joy and pleasure, dreaming one day cooking is what I will do for a living.

But before that dream became a reality I was working has a qualified Psychotherapist the Operations Manager for a Charity supporting survivors of incest and sexual abuse.
Very demanding but rewarding work. Whilst listening to people’s very sad past they would ask what is there after therapy? Where can I go to meet like minded people? How can I continue to build my confidence and empowerment?
These questions always stuck in my mind.
After many years supporting 100s of clients and managing 70 counsellors the time was right for me to leave, and support survivors after therapy.

I found an amazing unit that was private with free car park very secure the cctv cameras in the evening in Arnold Nottinghamshire area. Bizspace where the landlords I went to look round this one unit was perfect.
It took me 3 months to make the unit fit for purpose with the help of my adult children and friends, Patience Lounge was created.

I serve fresh home made Caribbean food and English . Our dishes include Jerk Chicken ,  Curry Mutton with rice and peas, plantain, Salted fish with Ackee, bacon/sausage cobs and a  full English breakfast. My daughter makes all our cakes with an array of gluten free options too.

We are open ( Monday to Friday 9am to 4pm – 3pm on a Saturday) serving food to the general public and all are welcome.

We also have a successful catering service providing amazing buffet food for conferences business lunches, private parties and weddings.
However the Bistro Cafe was an aim to fund the main reason for my dream.

My dream was to create a Safe Haven, a friendly comfortable place for Survivors of Sexual abuse and Domestic Violence suffers to come and let their hair down.
Thrivers Hub is a closed group it runs on a Wednesday evening for now, at the start members have some delicious food cooked by myself whilst talking and making friends. Later we have a speakers who volunteer their time to talk to the members about positivity, well-being, moving forward getting back into work, safe dating and many other topics.
The session finishes with checking how everyone is feeling and what they have taken from that evenings session.

Biz space  the landlord based in Arnold provides us with their conference room to use when we have members of the  general public coming to listen to one of our great talks as this gives us more room.

Patience Lounge Thrivers Hub changes people’s lives allows survivors  the freedom to be apart of something quite incredible building their own dreams with the help of others in a safe environment.

If you would like to try some of my Caribbean delightful food just pop in, if you know someone who would like to be a member of the Thrivers Hub age 16 years up give them my phone number or email address.

I am passionate about helping businesses grow and become sustainable. I do this by putting systems in place, to reduce the increasing administrative burden on business owners, so that they can focus on what they are best at, which is their business. I also actively communicate with businesses, so that I can identify where they can save money and claim the tax allowances that they are entitled to. By understanding my clients more, I can help them more.

At ApC we believe that we can save any business some tax.

Challenge me and my team to save you tax.

If your accountant is not talking to you about recent and upcoming changes to businesses, such as auto enrolment, digital reporting, more information in company accounts, I would be happy to have a chat with you.
